Science club started this week and we are learning to be forensic scientists. Everyone had their finger prints taken (it was a bit messy) and we found out that no one has the same set of prints not even identical twins!!

Now the weather is getting better Reception have discovered the funky fountain.

Our little school is getting bigger and we welcomed Lexie to Reception on Monday . She has made lots of new friends already.
Can you believe it,we have been coming to school for 100 days already!

To celebrate the day we had lots of activities around the number 100. Not just counting but writing about what the world might be like in 100 years time, planting 100 seeds, making a monster with 100 googly eyes and seeing how far we would get if we walked 100 steps. In the afternoon our parents and carers joined us and we made 100 day glasses,  paper chains with 100 links and took the 100 cup challenge. Take a look at some of the things we did.

 87 days to go!!!

Fish Ahoy!

Year One and Two where all at sea this week with a visit to Great Yarmouth to explore the Lydia Eva, a fishing Drifter that is nearly 100 years old and finding out what happened to the fish after they were landed, at  the Time and Tide Museum.
There was so much to see and do with our friends from Catfield. Have a look at some of our photographs.

All aboard the Lydia Eva

On Thursday we had a music afternoon. We played instruments and danced, learnt a new song all about sardines, added sound effects to a poem we had been reading  and made a paper plate tamborine. Mrs Hampshire didn't wear her hearing aids that day!

Friday 5 February 2016

This week our Topic on water got us experimenting. Year 1 and 2 were trying to find the best way to clean your hands.

It was unanimous - WARM SOAPY WATER!!  Cold water with no soap just didn't work!

On Wednesday we had another of our great Reading Cafes
Mrs Mayhew read "Love Splat"  by Rob Scotten -  a very romantic tale!  Then we had heart themed activities to choose from, suncatchers , woven hearts, and heart hand prints.
All ready for Valentines Day.
Thank you to all the parents who came along to help us.

Reception have been getting very creative this week.

Baking cakes to help with learning all about weight

Using things from around the classroom to make music and putting together some dance moves to go with the beat!

In the quieter moments they have been making good use of the ipads

We also said goodbye this week to our lovely teaching student  Miss Race
But she will be back with us in May for much longer and we are really looking forward to that. (She says she is too)!!!
