This weeks Highlights

Our Year 2 children went on an adventure on Wednesday. It began with a taxi ride (a little adventure in its own way. We've never had a taxi ride from school before!)
It took us to Stalham Academy where we met up with our friends from Sutton and Year 3 for a great maths day. There were 4 activities all based around a book .We counted , marched and brave Mrs Long even got out the  water  to help us with our Maths.
The books we used were:

Look out for them at school !!       And we have lots of others too.

On Tuesday we braved the rain and headed off to the Chapel Pit.
It is the local area we are studying in science.
We wanted to see how much it had changed since our last visit in September.
There were a lot of differences especially the trees that had lost all their leaves, but it was a lot harder to find bugs, flowers and berries

These are the first snowdrops we have seen this year

Today was a really windy day so what better than to make and fly a kite!
Which is exactly what Reception did .

This time of year there is a lot of weather about!
We have been looking at  different kinds of weather and how it affects people. We watched how it changes from day to day and why it might be important to know what it is going to be like tomorrow.
We had fun writing a script and making our own weather forecast together.
This is the link We hope you enjoy it.

We have been looking at shapes all this week and the Year 1's and 2's got very inventive with play dough and cocktail sticks making 3d shapes. Can you name the shapes they made?

.

We had a visit from Anglian Water and learnt all about saving water and not being wasteful.

It's been a fresh and frosty week but everyone has been wrapping up warmly and getting outside.
On Wednesday everyone went out on a bug hunt because even in the winter there is still plenty to see.

Hope helped the sea creatures enjoy a swim in the icy water!!!

Ebony found a piece of ice shaped like a triangle.
We have been learning the names of shapes this week
and she remembered that this was called a triangle.

Oliver and Max relaxed in their crate bed

Friday 15 January 2016

Reception have been having fantastic outside fun this week despite
the weather.  They have been using all the new equipment we have
 in the outside area
George made a brilliant  bridge with the crates

Everyone helped to make a tower
We used real tools on the workbench
And look what Lily made!!
The Light and water centre is really interesting and gives us lots to talk about

Max and Oliver have been painting the sea for a new display in the classroom
